Hans Bolling: Pessimist
ArchitectMade, Denmark.

Special: $86.00 instead of $120.00

Seeing the glass half empty, Hans Bolling's Pessimist by ArchitectMade is perhaps a mistaken realist. After all, the practical realist says the glass contains half the required amount of liquid for it to overflow. As a matter of fact, the pessimist is always concerned about the irresponsible hopefulness of the optimist. What is certain is that they were made for each other. Now a legend, PESSIMIST is the essence of Danish design. Though expressing Scandinavian simplicity in appearance, pessimists' clean lines create endless expressions by merely tilting its head in virtually any direction. Handmade out of the finest teak wood with a teak oil finish. The arms are made of woven cotton with copper wiring inside. The Optimist has light hair made out of luscious remarkably soft rabbit fur. The eyes are inserted of maple wood and ebony. Crafted entirely by hand in Denmark, this Architectmade wooden figurine comes packaged in a simple gift box.

The optimist says the glass is half full. The pessimist says the glass is half empty. Now you can have both. Created as a family, PESSIMIST and OPTIMIST can express happiness, sadness and curiosity, living alone or together as a family. Architect Hans Bolling designed these two characters that exemplify the duality in each of us: ying vs yang, happy or sad. Their carefully designed bodies are only different in demeanor, revealing the power of expression in defining one as an Optimist and the other a Pessimist. Together the Optimist and Pessimist embody the balance, and reality, of life.

Combine with OPTIMIST for a matching look.
