And nothing feels better than waking up with the sound of the birds! Designed in 1985 by Michael Graves; crafted with an 18/10 stainless-steel body and a design that is always in style. Its blue Handle and whistle in durable PA resin. The one thing that we like the most about this Alessi tea kettle is that it boils water very quickly, even when fully filled. Its wider base was especially designed to let water boil more quickly, making it a favorite for busy, modern-day users. Its heat-resistant, ergonomic handle locks into place for easy lifting and pouring. The Alessi Tea Kettle with Bird measures 8-1/2 inches in diameter and 9 inches high; hand wash only; both whistling bird and lid can be replaced. Safe for use on all heat sources, including induction; hand wash only.

The Alessi Kettle by Michael Graves has a nice wide base that is the perfect fit on the large burner of a stove. As a result of the slightly over sized base it heats very quickly without any heat loss. The surface has a bright polish stainless steel finish with a mirror like gleam. When the water is ready the bird whistle is nothing less spectacular, not just like your standard kettle noise and delivers plenty of volume. The ergonomic handle is perfect as well and is ideal for pouring water and stays completely cool. The cover comes off very easy for filling and has a satisfying "click" when you put it on. Designed by architect Michael Graves in 1985, this kettle is the first of a group of products designed in the 80's and 90's by the architect. This was the first group of products by an American designer to be included in the Alessi catalog. It opened the way for the playful design style that subsequently characterized the 90's, and thanks to an inspired mix of post-modern and pop idioms, it has become one of the internationally recognized icons of the 80's. Still the best seller since its introduction, the kettle is actually the product that has sold the greatest number of units in the history of the company. While almost every kettle is made in China nowadays, this one is a quality piece made in Italy.
