Original Wiggle Side Chair (34.25-inch height) designed by Frank Gehry in 1972 and made by Vitra in Europe. Gehry's sophisticated Wiggle Chair is part of his Easy-Edges cardboard furniture line. This bold cardboard chair; with it's fluid curves remains one of the undisputed masterpieces in the history of modern chair design. As striking as a sculpture, this unique modern designed chair is is comfortable enough to use as an occasional side chair in an office or residence. Sweeping curves make the classic Wiggle Chair a solid choice for modern furniure enthusiasts. Frank Gehry is one of today's most important architects. Frank Gehry likes to use unusual materials for his architecture and furniture. With the series "Easy Edges" from 1972, he succeeded in lending such everyday materials as cardboard a new aesthetic dimension. Although they appear unbelievably simple "Easy Edges" are constructed with the architect's care as well as being very robust and stable. Approximately 60 layers of cardboard are held together by hidden screws with a fiberboard edging.
