Isao Hosoe: Hebi Table Lamp
Valenti, imported from Italy.

Part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York.

An icon of late 20th-century design, the Hebi lamp was created in 1970 by Japanese designer Isao Hosoe for Valenti (Italy) and later released through Spazia. Hebi translates to “snake” in Japanese — a perfect description of its expressive, sculptural form.

The flexible metal tube, coated in PVC, can be bent and shaped in any direction, while the lamp head rotates to precisely aim the light. Both playful and highly functional, Hebi adapts effortlessly to a desk, shelf, or bedside — a true example of design meeting practicality.

A rare vintage piece appreciated by collectors and design enthusiasts alike.
