Block Lamp. Harri Koskinen's modern glass Block Lamp by Swedish based Design House Stockholm features a light bulb encased in a block of glass. Each part of the block lamp is hand cast in glass and it undergoes an extremely long cooling process to avoid cracking later on if exposed to strong temperature changes. The matt bulb shape is sand-blasted. Available with red, white or black fabric electrical cord. Designed by Harri Koskinen for Design House Stockholm; the Block Lamp is a masterpiece of Scandinavian purity and form. A sensation of ice and light, of heat and chill. The Block Lamp was featured at the New York Museum of Modern Art and London's Victoria and Albert Museum. It has wun numerous awards including the Swedish Design Award and the Design Plus Ambiente Award.

The chairman of the jury notes that Harri is an internationally renowned designer who, despite his young age, is perhaps Finland's greatest contemporary designer, and whose design is a perfect combination of tradition and renewal.
