Normann Copenhagen Bit Stool - Blue Cone

Normann Copenhagen

Introducing Bit, a versatile stool that opens up a world of possibilities for your home. Designed by Simon Legald, this stool serves as a pedestal for floral arrangements, a stylish side table for your lamp, or even impromptu seating for unexpected dinner guests. Inspired by clear-cut shapes like monoliths and columns, Legald's design is a bold and multifunctional addition to any space.

The pixelated surface of Bit is crafted from small bits of 100% recycled household and industrial plastic. Through a unique process, plastic fragments are heated to a melting point of 120°C, allowing for repeated reuse and reheating without compromising the material's properties. This sustainable approach reflects the commitment to environmental responsibility.

Bit is equally at home in indoor and outdoor environments, capable of withstanding temperatures ranging from -10°C to +50°C. However, it's essential to note that each stool is a unique piece, owing to the composition of recycled plastic waste. As a result, patterns and colors may vary, adding an individual touch to every Bit Stool.

Simon Legald, the mind behind this innovative design, graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2012. His portfolio spans both small- and large-scale products, showcasing a design philosophy that embraces a dialogue between craftsmanship and industry. Legald's inclination to visually highlight the techniques integral to a product's structure is evident in the thoughtful design of Bit.
