Born into a wealthy family, Jean Royere became an interior designer at the age of 29.
He left a comfortable job in import and export and chose a career in interior design.
Driven by an innate taste for decoration and without any particular training, he began his career in a factory at the Faubourg Saint-Antoine in Paris.
He received his first major order (the bar of the Carlton on the Champs-Elysees) in 1933.
His success was immediate and allowed him to collaborate with Pierre Gouffe, until 1942, in the creation of original and high quality furniture.
