Verner Panton Flowerpot Purple Pendant Lamp
Unique Interieur &Tradition, Denmark, imported from Europe.

Verner Panton Flowerpot pendant light fixture in purple. The classic Panton Flowerpot lamp is back! The famous Panton Flowerpot pendant light fixture has become one of the most recognizable lamps of the 20th century. Verner Panton's Flowerpot lamp received numerous design awards including West Germany's "Gute Form" Bundespreis in 1972. When using a large number of Flowerpot lamps you can create a large cluster. Or use a single Flowerpot lamp as unique accent piece. The Panton Flowerpot is hardwired for direct ceiling installation.

The Verner Panton Flowerpot pendant light fixture was designed by Danish/Swiss designer Verner Panton in the late 1960s. The Panton Flowerpot pendant lamp is an icon of mid century modern lighting design, more particular, space age design lighting. An object cannot become a design icon until it has stood the test of time and appears quite naturally in different settings, giving it a symbolic aura of its own. Verner Panton's Flowerpot pendant lap is just that. The famous Panton Flowerpot lamp, designed in 1969, was named after the happy days of Flower Power.

The iconic Panton Flowerpot lamp is one of Verner Panton's most stylish lamps. The Flowerpot lamp became a huge success for Verner Panton. The principle behind the Verner Panton Flowerpot lamp rests on a very simple geometric solution, where the top part is a hemisphere, and the bulb is screened by yet another smaller hemisphere. While the large shade is white on the inside, the smaller of the two is lacquered in orange to make the light diffuse. Verner Panton was a close friend of lighting designer Poul Henningsen, who intermediated contact between Panton and Louis Poulsen, who in turn set a large proportion of Verner Panton's lamps in production. Verner Panton had great affection for this lamp and thought out formations where many small Panton Flowerpot lamps were hung in groups, so they made up one large lamp. Production today has been resumed by &Tradition in Denmark.
