The Mayuhana Pendant by Yamagiwa presents a silky white spun thread design that is reminiscent of a cocoon. The Mayuhana Pendant gives off a soft light that is enhanced by the double and triple shelters of this delicate, glass fiber creation. Yamagiwa was established in 1923 and has been well known in Japan for its top quality design and service in the manufacturing and distributing of high-end Lighting products for more than half century. A small opening on the top allows the bulb to be exchanged. Ships fully assembled.
The Yamagiwa Mayuhana collection designed by Japanese star architect, Toyo Ito and manufactured by Yamagiwa, embraces Japanese design classics from nature and history. Handmade in Japan and inspired by
Butterfly Cocoons, these pendant light fixtures radiate a warm, soft and silky smooth light, much like the classic rice paper lanterns for which the country is famous.
The pendant's thin yet strong strings are made from semi-transparent white fibers. Three layers of these spun strings creates soft illumination in a simple and organic design lamp.
The Yamagiwa Mayuhana lamps are suitable for energy saving bulbs. The fiberglass material makes the lamp easy to clean.
The Mayuhana collection is manufactured by Yamagiwa, Japan's leading light manufacturer. Imported.
