Francisco Gomez Paz: Sarmiento Bookcase
A wall bookcase that, in spite of its simplicity, features high technological and conceptual
innovation. It differs from classical bookcases because of the inclination of its shelves,
which eliminate the problem of the encumbrance and depth while supporting various size
books (with a difference up to 7.87" or 20cm). It is discrete, can be used in many different ways
and gains meaning and relevance with the presence of the books.
Its structure is essential but potentially rich: the shelves can slide on the stanchions making
it adjustable in height.
Thanks to its simple, not cold lines, you can use it in any public or private space.
Given its versatility, it also fulfills man's emotional needs. It is created with a peculiar
bending of the sheet which conforms with the company eco-sustainability principles. It is
made of resistant materials without harmful finishing touches. The shelves made of one
type of recyclable material and the stanchions are easily disassembled.
Francisco Gomez Paz:
Sarmiento is a shelf capable of disappearing behind the books that holds, conferring them the most important role. In
fact the books, with their variety of color and shape, create a flexible and never repeating landscape. This effect is possible
thanks to a clever design invention; the 18degrees angulation of the shelf hosts the barycentre of different sized
books in only 11 cm. The result is a light and almost invisible object.
