Alessi Neapolitan Coffee Maker 90018 (Macchinetta Napoletana). Consider this classic drip brew coffee maker if you want the best!
This is possibly the best coffee maker around, designed and made in Italy. This type of coffee pot is a drip brew coffee maker for the stove top and uses gravity to take the water
through the coffee system. Some say it originated in Naples, hence the name,
while others say it is of French Origin. Riccardo Dalisi created this version for Alessi and it has become
a classic Alessi design and a beloved Italian design icon. Dalisi was born in
Potenza in 1931 and was an architect who taught planning and industrial design and
created this product in 1987. It actually took two hundred prototypes to settle on this
particular Alessi Neapolitan Coffee Maker 90018 and the journey began in 1979 so overall it took 8 years.
This coffee maker is made from 18/10 stainless steel which has been highly
polished to a mirror finish. The handle and top of lid have been made from
Canaletto Walnut for a classy finish. Beautiful to behold, and makes the loveliest coffee.
The Alessi Neapolitan Drip Brew Coffee Maker 90018 is our most beautiful coffee maker!
The design of this coffee maker was one of the most complex and lengthy in Alessi's history: over the years it resulted in a book and over two hundred prototypes, all working. Riccardo Dalisi brought his conceptual experience of high craftsmanship to Alessi, blending matter-of-fact industry with fragility and poetry: perhaps the best choice for working with ancient domestic rituals.
